Millionaire Gets In The Festive Spirit With
Two Celebrity Specials!

Dougie Poynter, Sara Cox, Richard Madeley, Amir Khan, Martin Kemp and other famous faces embrace Christmas cheer to win big for charity

Well known celebrities will be sitting in the hot seat this holiday season in a bid to raise a million pounds for charity in two Who Wants To Be A Millionaire? festive specials on ITV1.

British boxing legend Amir Khan will step into the Millionaire ring for a live Christmas edition of the show on 19 December. Trying to pack a punch in the fight to claim the magic million for his chosen charity, Amir will be joined by British funny man Jason Manford.

"I've watched the show on telly loads and find myself shouting the answers at the screen, although they're never the right answers!” said Jason who is playing for the Children's Adventure Farm Trust (CAFT). “I'm hoping to a) not embarrass myself on national telly and b) raise money for a wonderful charity close to my home."

Also hoping to cook up a storm in the Millionaire hot seat will be culinary expert Heston Blumenthal accompanied by breakfast favourite Kate Garraway. Acting gold, Martin Kemp, will be joined by X Factor winner Matt Cardle and, following her adventure in the jungle, Fatima Whitbread will try to become champion of the ‘Cash Mountain’ with partner Russell Watson.

On Tuesday 3 January TV and radio presenters, Richard Madeley and Sara Cox, will team up in a New Year’s Special and hope to find the winning formula that gets them to the top of the money tree.

Richard said: “Who Wants To Be A Millionaire? remains one of my favourite TV shows and I just hope my mate Sara and I raise a decent amount for our charities. I’ll be playing for the Caron Keating Foundation. Caron’s mother, Gloria Hunniford, runs the Foundation and if I don’t do the business I expect to be summoned to Sevenoaks for a serious talking to, so wish me luck everyone.”

Sara added: “I’ve always wanted to find out what it’s like to be in the Millionaire hot seat and luckily I’ve got Richard to hold my hand if it all gets too much. I’ve got my fingers crossed that we can raise lots of cash for Centrepoint and open the New Year with a bang.”

Everyone’s favourite Jungle Queen Stacey Solomon will be aiming to reach the magic million with comedian Lee Mack and Dougie Poynter and Tom Fletcher are also hoping to McFly away with lots of cash.

Lee Mack said: “With Stacey Solomon on my side we’re definitely going to get the million. He is the bloke who wrote A Brief History of Time right?’

Host, Chris Tarrant, will oversee proceedings as the pairs attempt to reach the million while battling against the ticking clock. They are all playing for their favourite charities and a lucky viewer at home will also have the chance to split the cash.
